The barrel is sturdy 1/4" UV protected polyethylene plastic for long lasting water storing capacity. You don't have to worry about centering this barrel under the down spout because of the special design of the top; the water just needs to land anywhere on the top to flow into the bottom of the container. There are two dispensing levels available so that you won't interfere with the spigot connection.
