A Heartland Wood Cook Stove Fresh Air Kit enables you to use outside air, instead of room air to fuel the fire. Using an outside source for combustion air has its advantages. If your home is tight and well insulated, then the fire in the stove may be “starved” of combustible air, it will be difficult maintaining a fire, and you may have back drafting problems. During the heating season, cold air, (which is more dense than warm air), will cause the fire to burn a little hotter, resulting in more BTU’s from your wood, and less creosote build-up.

The heat shield kit mounts directly on the rear of the stove. By installing a Heartland Sweetheart Stainless Steel Waterjacket in your cookstove, you can reduce your hot water utility bill. The waterjacket heats 6 to 8 gallon per hour (about 10,000 BTUs).
