The Heartland Oval Wood Cook Stove - Ivory will be a great addition to your home and offers dependability, comfort and tremendous versatility. Heartland Wood Cook Stoves have been heating homes, warming water and cooking meals for almost a century.

Features:

  • Heating capacity: 1,200 - 1,800 sq..
  • Heat Output: 50,000 BTU/hr
  • Cooking surface dimensions: 35.25" W x 25.75” D
  • Oven size: 2.4 cu. ft.

With this Heartland Oval Wood Cook Stove - Ivory, you can keep your home glowing through ice and snow and power failures. The Oval is capable of heating up to 1,800 square feet. No matter what is happening outside, you can still enjoy everything from a hot cup of cocoa to a snug night’s sleep.

This stove will provide you and your family with unforgettable flavor! The oven is heated from all sides, cooking the food evenly and to perfection every time. Thaw your frozen food, warm your plates or watch your dough rise in the warming closet.

The cast iron top provides an excellent large cooking area for griddling, frying, basting and simmering. This cast iron stove top cooks like cast iron cookware, once heated retains the heat for a long time. Successful stove top and oven cooking will not result from trying to fire the stove up immediately but by having a heated stove and ‘banking’ the fire to retain the temperature required.

Woodstove cooking methods are as diverse as their owners - there is no right or wrong way only, in time, your way. When using the baking in the oven the stove should be at the charcoal stage of the combustion process before the oven is ready for cooking. The damper position will effect the temperature of the fire resulting in the oven temperature changing. Tending of the fire during baking times is necessary to keep temperatures level.

The firewood you use in your wood burning cook stove will make an important contribution to successful operation. To achieve the best performance and overall efficiency it is recommended to use firewood that has been split, stacked and air-dried undercover from rain for at least one year. Burning improperly seasoned or “green” wood can be a frustrating experience leading to poor performance, smoky fires and a build-up of creosote. Do not burn saltwater driftwood refuse, rubber tires, etc. - the use of improper fuels can cause a fire hazard and lead to a premature deterioration of the stove components, voiding the warranty.

    Benefits of Burning Dry Wood:
  • Gives up to 25% higher efficiency
  • It produces less creosote
  • Ignites faster and smokes less
  • Valuable heat is lost in the fire as it dries out wet wood

Visually, the oval stove has an oval shaped firebox and can accept wood up to 16" long. Load the firebox from the top or front and the included ash pan will catch ash and embers - easy to remove with the sliding track. The firebox and oven vent with a 6" flue pipe.

Visually, the sweetheart stove has a rectangular shaped firebox and can accept wood up to 16" long. Load the firebox from the top or front and the included ash pan will catch ash and embers - easy to remove with the sliding track. The firebox and oven vent with a 6" flue pipe.

The Heartland Sweetheart Wood Cook Stove - Black will create an iconic look in your home with it's unrivaled craftsmanship and the attention detail - along with it's functionality. This cook stove offers dependability, comfort and tremendous versatility. Heartland Wood Cook Stoves have been heating homes, warming water and cooking meals for almost a century.

Features:

  • Heating Capacity: 800 - 1,500 sq. ft.
  • Heat Output: 35,000 BTUs/hr
  • Flue size: 6"
  • Cooking surface dimensions: 29.5" W x 21" D
  • Oven size: 1.7 cubic feet

With this Heartland Sweetheart Wood Cook Stove - Black, you can keep your home glowing through ice and snow and power failures. The Sweetheart is capable of heating up to 1,500 square feet.

The main oven is 1.5 cu.ft. and is ideal for all types of cooking. The gentle indirect heat radiates in from all sides cooking the food thoroughly. A second oven below provides a second cooking area and operates at around half the temperature of the main oven. The cast iron stovetop provides an excellent large surface for doing griddling, frying, basting and simmering. The two insulated lids help retain heat on the hotplate when they are closed. Heat radiates into the room when the lids are open. Cooking directly on the hotplate is not recommended.

A Heartland Wood Cook Stove Fresh Air Kit enables you to use outside air, instead of room air to fuel the fire. Using an outside source for combustion air has its advantages. If your home is tight and well insulated, then the fire in the stove may be “starved” of combustible air, it will be difficult maintaining a fire, and you may have back drafting problems. During the heating season, cold air, (which is more dense than warm air), will cause the fire to burn a little hotter, resulting in more BTU’s from your wood, and less creosote build-up.

By installing a Heartland Sweetheart Stainless Steel Waterjacket in your cookstove, you can reduce your hot water utility bill. The waterjacket heats 6 to 8 gallon per hour (about 10,000 BTUs).

The water jacket is a hollow baffled chamber that fits in the firebox. Two pipes and a pump installed from the water jacket to the electric or gas water heater, circulate heated water from the stove to the storage tank. Because cold water cools the water jacket in the firebox, creosote will be attracted to its cool surface, like humidity being attracted to a cold window. These deposits will quickly burn off thus reducing creosote formation in the stove and chimney.
