What type of material is the frame?
The fireplace door frame is made of anodized aluminum. Aluminum is a lightweight yet strong material that is a good option for a fireplace door.
What type of finish is applied to the frame?
The aluminum is anodized through an electrochemical process that gives the metal its beauty and durability. This process allows the aluminum to be decoratively colored while creating a hard coating on the surface of the metal which makes it resistant to abrasion and corrosion.
Will the finish tarnish?
No. A wonderful feature of the anodized aluminum is that it will not tarnish, which makes it easy to clean.
Why do some of the finishes cost more?
Some of the finishes are extra because they are considered "custom" finishes. These finishes increase the build time of the fireplace door to 3-4 weeks. In these cases, the fireplace door is made-to-order, so it will take some extra time to build and paint the door.
If I get a "custom" finish on a stock door, does that make the door a custom door?
That's correct. If you request a custom finish, the fireplace door becomes a custom door and is subject to our Return Policy for custom items. Please see our Return Policy for details.
I need my door fast! What finish should I choose?
Black and Polished are always in stock. As long as your other selections are standard selections, you should get the fireplace door in approximately 10-14 days.
