Frame Finish Option

• What type of material is the frame?
  The fireplace door frame is made of aluminum. Aluminum is a lightweight yet strong material that is a good option for a fireplace door.


• What type of finish is applied to the frame?
  This fireplace door features a number of color finishes which are either anodized or powder coated.
  • The anodized finish is an electrochemical process that gives the metal its beauty and durability. This process allows the aluminum to be decoratively colored while creating a hard coating on the surface of the metal which makes it resistant to abrasion and corrosion.
  • The powder coat finish is an extremely high quality finish that uses electricity to solidify the painting process. First, the product is taken and a electrostatic charge is applied to finely ground particles of pigment and resin. Then, the pigment and resin is sprayed onto the product. The product will be electrically grounded so that the charged particles will adhere to it. The product is then placed within a curing oven where the powder melts and fuses into a solid coating. The result is an attractive, durable, high quality finish.

• Will the finish tarnish? 
  
No. A wonderful feature of the anodized and poweder coat finishes is that they will not tarnish, which makes it easy to clean the fireplace door.

• Why do some of the finishes cost more?
  Some of the finishes cost extra because they are considered specialty finishes. These particular finishes require a more sophistaced process to achieve the desired texture and/or color.

	Natural Iron	Just what you’d expect from a Natural Iron label, this finish is smooth and even across the face of it with ultra fine metallic flecks throughout. Satin finish of this color choice makes it a perfect choice for many fireplace furnishings.	Powder Coat

	Rust	Slightly textured to the touch, this finish is aptly named as its coloring and special finishing techniques render it a close imitation of its namesake. The Rust color option boasts tiny metallic flecks and matte finish across the surface.	Powder Coat
	Solar Bronze	The Solar Bronze finish is comprised of a subtle off-black background with sparkly copper-colored flecks and an inconspicuous hammered texture which is discernable to the touch.	Powder Coat
	Textured Black	This rustic black finish is slightly pebbled with an overall matte finish. It is an ideal way to add interest and warmth to a classic black finish.	Powder Coat
	Vintage Iron	The medium coarse texture of the Vintage Iron finish features off-black coloring in the depressions and gray, iron coloring at the high points. Overall finish of this color option is matte.	Powder Coat
	Weathered Iron	Imagine a dark gray piece of iron that has been oxidized. During the oxidization process, a metal will develop a fine white mist across its surface. This option looks just that way and has a matte finish.	Powder Coat
	Polished Brass	Traditional finish option for fireplace accessories, the Polished Brass finish has been buffed to a high shine with no texture or color variations. Ultimately, it is a golden color with ultra high shine.	Anodized
	Antique Brass	Also a traditional finish for fireplace accessories, the Antique Brass finish features a dull golden color which has been covered with a layer of transparent black, causing it to look aged. There is no texture or color variation to this finish option, but it does feature a satin shine.	Anodized
	Satin Nickel	A light metal gray color with brushed finish to knock down the shine characterizes the Satin Nickel finish. There is no texture or color variation to this finish which has become a favorite in more modern and contemporary décor.	Anodized
