Flue Gripper

These are made to last- stainless steel; heavy gauge. Lightning fast shipping, too!

Review

Quality product. I did not have enough flue top to use the screws, so I used this product to fasten the chimney cover to the flue using the inside of the flue. Made of Heavy duty steel (hopefully stainless steel). Cover won't be moving anywhere.

Gelco Flue Gripper

These Flue Grippers would be ok if they only had the proper angle on the bend to grip the flue. The screw snaped while I was tightening it and I lost the gripper down the chimney.

The item was not drilled properly, I was shipped rePlacemenys and still had to refill the hole on 1 out of 4.

Gelco flu gripper legs

I have a Ariens flu which is pored causing the opening to be not uniform all the way around. The gripper legs did not install well. I had to modify them to work in my situation. The problem was do to my chimney opening more than a problem with the gripper legs.

Gelco Flue Gripper Legs

While the design concept for the Gelco Flue Gripper Legs is good and helpful in particular chimney cap installations where the flue tile does not rise sufficiently above the top of the chimney, the manufacturer's quality control seems out of control. All four pieces in the first box had their 'bolt holes' so misplaced that none of them could be fitted in place; of the replacement box of gripper legs (very promptly issued by Woodland Direct, thank you!), one of four legs was not usable for the same reason, and all of the other three legs were not 'perfectly' fabricated. This is a simple device, for which all this hassle shouldn't be experienced. This is not the only incident of this problem for this product.

Gelco Flue Gripper Legs - Set of 4

Material quality was satisfactory, but the manufacturing was terrible. The holes, critical for installation, were in the wrong place, very clearly mis-drilled, requiring me to modify the parts! Pretty annoying!

Review of Flue Gripper Legs

I purchased these for a chimney with a flue that was flush with the chimney top. They did not spread wide enough to fit the flue opening and I had to work with a local machine shop to bend the legs in order to get them to fit. The problem in my view is that tightening the gripper legs doesn't make much of a change in the gap spanned by the legs. A better design is needed in order to accommodate a reasonable range of flue sizes.

Flue Gripper Legs

I had to reorder the legs- the holes were not drilled in the correct location, making it impossible to install. Woodland handled my request and I received the new legs in a few days. 2 out of 4 legs were still not workable, at that point I redrilled and filled the hole in the correct location.

Gripper leggs

Very dissatisfied the wind blew it off and it put a hole in my brand new metal roof so I had to take the chimney cover to the welding shop and spend $35 haveing some legs welded on to it not to mention haveing to replace a sheet of 26 guage metal on my roof haven't been billed for that yet

Grippers for Vent Cap

Very disappointed. The angles were all wrong and the stainless steel screws stripped and got locked in place. The tech dept. should try it for themselves. The grippers and screws didn't line up correctly. Not fun to discover on top of the roof during installation. Thanks for the prompt refund.
