This Heritage Hearth Pad is tested to meet and exceed UL standards for ember and thermal protection. All of the hearth pads have a standard ember protection also known as Type I protection. You can upgrade to a thermal protection known as Type II for extra radiant burning protection, but be sure to check your stove owner’s manual to see if there are model specific R-value requirements before purchasing a hearth pad. Heritage hearth pads offer up to an R-value of 2.0 with the Sapphire Aluminum Edge –Type II allowing you to have peace of mind that your hearth pad will stand the test of time. Each hearth pad is individually crafted with non-combustible materials with a steel frame and 6 inch border. The rectangular shape is very unique and the pattern of the tile may vary with the size. Each hearth pad is laid by hand with individually cut tiles or slate.

The Pedestal came with the same top we had chosen. It lifted the wood burning stove higher which was more comfortable for us to load.
Matched hearth perfectly. The tiles were not cut exactly evenly and this makes the pedestal look a bit crooked. Not enough to return it. For this price it should have had some type of cushion material on the bottom. I have laminate flooring and was concerned about scratches.
