The Magic Heat 6" Gas Stove Heat Reclaimer increases the efficiency of your gas stove. When the exhaust gases from your gas stove heat the stove pipe to 280ºF, the Magic Heat's internal thermometer turns it on. The Magic Heat's electric powered fan forces cool air to circulate around tubes heated by the hot flue gases. Then, the warm air is forced out into your living space.

By reclaiming the heat from your gas stove's exhaust fumes, you are increasing your heating efficiency and will use less fuel to heat the same amount of space. This heat reclaimer is proudly made in the USA, ensuring quality craftsmanship. Please keep in mind that this accessory is made for single wall pipe only and not double wall black.

Magic Heat Extractor

Magic Heat Extractor heats the entire house to 68 degrees and the main room where it is located to 80 degrees. It doubles a cord of wood in BTU's . The home is about 900 square feet. Just put two (two foot ) split logs into the stove damper it down just a tad, it will hold temperature for around 5 hours. I know on a bigger stove it would do a great job.

Works great! Wonderful customer service. Thank you so much for all your help Stephanie!

dangerous creosote build up

We loved this unit and the significant amount of "lost" heat that it reclaimed. In our third season of use, the sliding cleaner (that knob in the center that removes creosote buildup from the tubes that capture the heat) became stuck. Then we noticed a lot of smoke billowing from our woodstove whenever we opened the door. We finally took the flue pipes apart and found creosote buildup so thick, there was only about a quarter-sized opening in the top of the flue! A little research revealed that the Magic Heat cools the air above it to the point that the build up of creosote is heightened in the upper part of the flue. This unit works great, but you have to be diligent in using the CLR logs (or some similar creosote reducing product) and also inspecting your pipes annually. We use our woodstove approximately 90 days in a winter. I also learned that it is not good to have a fire without the Magic Heat operating as then it can get too hot and be damaged...difficult to do when the power is out and you are relying on your woodstove as your only source of heat.
