What is Fire Glass?
Fire Glass is tempered glass that is used in fireplaces and fire pits to increase vibrancy, reflection and color. Tempered glass is tumbled and polished to prevent sharp edges and injury. The glass is designed for gas fire pits and gas fireplaces to tolerate high temperatures without melting, burning or discoloring when used as recommended. The glass does NOT create toxic fumes, smoke, ash, or soot.
What can I use Fire Glass for?
Fire Glass is used to replace gas logs. The glass will instantly transform your living space with flames dancing above the dazzling fire glass. It is recommended for: Indoor/outdoor fireplaces; Fire tables; Fire pits; Fire pans; Aquariums; Landscaping; Indoor/outdoor decor; Mosaic cement counter tops; Terrazzo flooring.
What type of fireplaces or fire pits can I use the glass with?
Fire glass can be used in a non-vented or vented fireplace and outdoor fire pits. You can use our fire glass indoors in vent-free fireplaces, but only when using vent-free approved burner system.
Can I use the glass with propane or natural gas?
You can use fire glass with both propane and natural gas. When you purchase your burner pan make sure to purchase the correct connection kit for the type of gas you are using. The orifice is different for natural gas than it is for propane. Also you will need an air-mixture orifice for propane to keep it from sooting. Propane does burner darker than natural gas and so you may need to clean your fire glass after using propane multiple times.
What kinds of glass are there?
There are different sizes and colors of fire glass for you to choose from. We offer Small 1/4", Medium 1/2", Large 1-2", accent glass, reflective glass, and smooth in a variety of colors.
Is Fire Glass safe?
Fire glass is tumbled to remove any sharp edges and then it is washed to make it sparkle. Tempered glass chips are more uniform in shape, without the pointed edges found in broken glass shards that can puncture and cut body parts, it’s safer. Tempered glass chips last longer, they do not burn, melt, or discolor like un-tempered.
How long will Fire Glass last?
Fire glass will not burn, melt or discolor. It will not pop, create soot, ash or smoke either. The glass will last forever when left within the fireplace. Like all glass products there is a risk of breaking pieces due to mishandling or during transport. When one is re-installing the product after moving there may be some glass sediment or broken pieces at the bottom of your container.
Can I use ordinary glass in my fireplace or fire pit?
You cannot use ordinary glass in your fireplace. Ordinary glass can pop or even shoot out a shard or two into your room. Laminated windshield glass will blacken and melt. Be careful not to place products in your fireplace that you are unfamiliar with. For example, tempered windshield glass incorporates a plastic film that will generate a most annoying smoke & odor and by the chemical make up this can cause a poisonous gas.

What is the maintenance of Fire Glass?
Because there is no soot, dirt, or ashes there is minimal maintenance. Like any household furnishing the glass can get dirty and dusty. If there is an obvious build up of dirt one can scoop out the glass and wash it with dish detergent followed by a thorough rinse.
Does Fire Glass produce a lot of heat?
When you use a burner pan with fire glass will radiate 3-4 times more heat with its reflective surface than wood or artificial logs. The glass itself radiates heat and provides a constant flow. Initially there is nothing blocking the radiant heat produces by the flame and hot glass. This product produces more heat than typical gas logs and is far more efficient primarily because there is nothing blocking the radiant heat produced by the flame and hot glass.
