Manufacturer Warranty :
The Manufacturer warrants its factory built heat exchangers for 3 years against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty covers only the original consumer purchaser at the original installation of the heat exchanger installed and operated in accordance with the appropriate installation and operating instructions.
In the first year the Manufacturer will supply parts at no charge (F.O. B. Factory) to repair components of the heat exchanger and blower. All shipping and handling costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
The warranty is void if in the opinion of the Manufacturer deems the hearth heater or blower has been improperly installed, abused, misused, tampered with, altered or used with the accessories not supplied or approved by the Manufacturer.
The Manufacturer shall have no responsibility for any special, incident contingent or consequential damages of any kind resulting from defects of or in the fireplace. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. The Manufacturer does not accept unit returns unless authorized by the Manufacturer. Used units may not be returned.

Spitfire Fireplace Heater with Blower Unit
This product takes longer than I expected to heat the living room off the fireplace room. There is an open entryway directly in front of the fireplace. The blower faces directly into the living room, yet it takes most of the day to make the living room comfortable. The size of the grate tubes I would of liked them to have been bigger around . At some point I will replace the blower for a more powerful one. - Thank you, Bill

The Spitfire does a great job heating an area approx. 17feet X 40feet. Within 1/2 hour we felt a difference in the amount of heat in our two rooms. This is really going to cut down on our electric bill.

Spitfire fireplace heater
We received my "Spitfire heater" on New Year's Eve night and decided to stay home and try it out. We were very satisfied with the initial heat output of the unit for my masonary fireplace. I wanted to increase the efficiency of the fireplace but did not want to spend $3500 for a fireplace insert. I have used the unit over several days and it does put out considerable heat with the two speed fan on high. There is no smoke entering the room from the unit. The fan noise is moderate at high speed and fairly quiet at the low speed. The space we are heating is a large great room area with 12 foot ceilings so I did not expect it to keep the area toasty by itself but if I warm it up with our furnace first it does maintain the room at an acceptable level. Since I have had the unit for only a couple of weeks I cannot report on its durability but I am satisfied with its heat output. My only negative would be the asking price of $460 which seems a little steep for a device who's parts might run $75 but I guess you are paying for the technology. I will also be interested to see how long the fan lasts since to replace it is over $100.

Unit is very well built and appears like it will last a long time. Fit and finish are very good. The only criticism is that the blower is a bit underpowered, even on high and it could certainly be quieter.
