The Waskow Fire Pit Bowl is unlike anything you have ever seen in the world of outdoor living products. American artist Peter Abrams, based in Trenton, New Jersey, has created a truly unique and beautiful product with this line of Fire Bowls. Using reclaimed metal materials, Abrams has turned the discarded into the sublime. Recycled elevator cable approximately one half inch in diameter provides the sturdy, yet flowing structure for this functional work of art.
Since each piece is made completely by hand, there will be slight variations in each piece. You can be sure that your firebowl is a one of a kind.
Also included with your fire bowl is a ring pedestal base. The pedestal is made from the same beautiful cable that your fire bowl is made of, making it the perfect accent, while providing a sturdy bed in which to place your fire bowl. The ring can be filled with stone, lava rock, or similar material that accents its surroundings.
Since elevator cable is a raw material, it has been impregnated with years of grease and oil. The initial or "virgin" burn will produce an impressive show, including dramatic amounts of smoke and flame. This process only adds to the experience of owning one of these unique pieces of art. After the initial burn, the cable will oxidize to a natural, earthy patina, and will require no maintenance.
