FAQs

Q: Does this need a remote with it? A: No, a remote is not required for ignition of this unit.
Q: What does vented mean? A: Vented gas log sets are gas appliances that are required to be vented in an existing fireplace. A vented gas log set will provide a very realistic flame, however, most of the heat is lost through the vent. The contrast to a vented gas log set is a vent-free, or ventless, gas log set. Ventless gas log sets do not have as realist of a flame as vented gas logs do. However, because they don't have to be vented, all of the heat they produce stays in the home. A ventless gas log set incorporates a burner system that is 99.9% efficient and has a nearly perfect burn that does not produce harmful combustion gases such as carbon monoxide. Ventless gas appliances are not allowed in some jurisdictions and states. Always consult your local building code authority before gas appliance installation.
Q: How do you light these logs? A: Because this gas log set has an electronic ignition system, operation is very simple. If no optional remote is selected you can turn the log set on and off via a switch on the gas log set. Pushing the switch into the "On" position will cause the gas log set to enter it's ignition sequence. Once the ignition sequence is complete the gas log set will be lit and can be shut off by returning the switch to the "Off" position. If an optional remote is selected this process is done from the handheld remote instead of the switch on the gas log set.
