Works Very Well

I bought one of these for my small firewood business. I have to say, for the price this works very well. I can take readings from anywhere on the wood and my customers like the reassurance in seeing the moisture content of their wood. I carry it with me everywhere I go. I especially like it when we're cutting. It lets me know how long a tree is going to need to season before I can sell it. Like I said, for the price, this is a must have item.

Ordering was easy and direct, delivery was prompt and tester works very well. With 24 cords of Douglas Fir firewood cut so far and more in the log pile, I now can tell with certainty which wood is ready this year and which will need to cure another year. I would shop here again!

Easy to use, appears to accurate, very affordable, a must if your are buying wood, essential even if you are cutting your own. I cut up a huge oak felled over 18 months by lightning. In the larger sections there was still 24% moisture, not dry enough for the fireplace

I gave four stars to this product because I do not know what all is out there in the world of moisture meters. I am not really new to fire wood but I am new to the idea of using a moisture meter. When the meter than came with my new high efficiency wood stove gave up the ghost I had to go shopping for a replacement and bought a couple. While being skeptical of the accuracy of my old meter to begin with, having the two different brands of meters to compare readings coupled with other tests left me with a great deal of confidence that the Hearth Country firewood moisture meter provided readings that were reliable. It has become my meter of choice for testing firewood. It has a nice display that is easy to read and I really like the four prongs on the meter as opposed to the two prong system most other meters seem to have.

It arrived in A somewhat timely mater, very easy to use. i am using it to check my firewood. the meter seems to be fairly accurate. the wood is a mix of alder fir and hemlock. so far so good.
