FAQs

Q: Can this be used with my cordless drill? A: The fittings that allow you to attach brushes like this to an extension rod are threaded. If you attach this to a drill and you run the drill in the wrong direction, you could unwind a connection point and end up having to use retrieval tools to remove your brush from your chimney. Some folks use drill motors with these brushes, but we don't recommend it. You should be able to adequately clean your chimney without having to attach this brush to a drill.
Q: Poly vs. steel? Is it just one will last longer? A: Poly brushes are designed for cleaning metal pipes. Steel brushes are designed primarily for cleaning clay flue tiles. A steel brush can scratch the inside of the pipe slightly weakening it and making it more likely for creosote to build up.
