Ok for the price. But needs painted with a quality outdoor paint! Mine has been installed for a few months and is showing rust already!

Limited use

For the price the door is solid and heavy in weight. No worries about warping from weather or heat. However on my unit the glazing was thin and already showing rust spots in some places. Woodland direct was great in getting it switched out or a higher quality item. Would recommend for indoor but not outdoor use. There is no secure locking mechanism on this door. The "bolt" is just a short metal pin that slips up over a bar with minimal retention force. Any coon or groundhog could easily open this door. Also there is about a 1/8-1/16" gap all around the door that would let cold winter air come right through.

While this product was very well made and affordable, there is a problem with my fireplace that won't allow its installation. I will have to have a professional solve our problem. Though pleased with your products and service, I will be returning them.

Cast iron door

I was disappointed with this product the door lock mechanism does not properly keep the door closed I had to wire the door shut to keep it in the closed position.

Simple and somewhat crude, but good functioning and well made clean out door.

Installed good but I did not like the cotter pins in the hinge, replaced with stainless steel bolts - looks much better.
