ember grate screen

VERY GOOD! Keeps the hot coals next to the logs instead of dropping down thru the grates where they are useless on the floor of the hearth. Keeping the embers on top of grate allows you to add new logs to fire for a much loner time than with "traditional" grates where all the coals end up too far underneath the grate to be of any use in igniting a freahly added log. Saves wood also as you can wait longer to add additional logs, using just the retained hot embers, and not have to add new logs to the fire while it's still burning fiercely before it's reduced to hot embers that previously would be lost. seriously good, especially for Twenty Bucks (aprox)

Fireplace Grating

It is great, since using it we have been using less wood. Can explain why, but it works. So glad we decided to try the grate.. If 1 is the best, that is what we would give it!
