Everything I ordered was excellent quality and reasonable in price.
Just what we were looking for...
This model does not have knobs and pilot lights to attend to, it uses our current fireplace gas valve and we light it with a lighter. It's exactly what we wanted and that's what we got! The embers glow nicely and the flames are perfect.

Love the tipi style logs
We love the look of these over the traditional stacked log look. We ended up using 30lbs of extra fireplace rock to create a more even look that hid most of the valving system. The flex pipe provided with the millivolt ignition system creates a bit of gas flow noise. We tested black iron pipes only and it was quieter but wasn't centered in the fireplace as well so we had to go back to the flex pipe. Typically isn't an issue unless it's a quiet room then you hear the gas going through the flex pipe and millivolt system. Other issue is the time to ignite, sometimes it can take up to 10 sec and ignites with a decently large whoosh noise. We have adjusted the pilot height and direction of the top hat with little change to the rate at which it ignites. Overall happy but mainly because it's a much better look (even when off) than the tradition horizontal logs.
