The Pennsylvania Firebacks Belgium Fireback is a reproduction of a fireback thought to have been cast in Belgium in the late nineteenth century and brought to America. Today it has been recreated down to the floral Art Nouveau border and prominent arched top. This Fireback offers a distinct European flavor for any home. Firebacks are shipped with a water base black paint to prevent rust build up during transit. To give a brighter finish to the fireback and to protect the casting from rust after use with a fire, an application of water base graphite stove polish is recommended. Applied with a toothbrush or rag, this paste, when dry, can be polished with a wire brush or rag giving the fireback an attractive silverfish sheen.

The Pennsylvania Firebacks Belgium Fireback is constructed of cast iron and is meant to be placed behind your fire. Reclaiming heat that you’d otherwise lose, this fireback will absorb heat during burning and then radiate it into the room. Even after the fire is out, heat will continue to move throughout the room making it a very efficient addition to your home!
