The Vacu-Stack Solid Pack Custom Chimney Cap is a specialty chimney termination designed to solve wind-related draft problems. These issues often affect homes located near hills, mountains, tall trees, or buildings, where shifting wind patterns can push smoke back into the living space. By reshaping airflow at the chimney termination, the Vacu-Stack helps maintain proper draft while also providing weather and debris protection.

How it works: When wind flows around the Vacu-Stack's hood and vent geometry, wind speeds increase and create a partial vacuum. This vacuum helps pull flue gases upward, reducing wind-induced downdraft and minimizing smoke, odor, and flue gas infiltration into the home.

Solid Pack models are designed for round factory-built chimneys that are not air-insulated. Multiple material options are available to suit different environments and installation requirements:

• Stainless Steel: For general residential and light commercial use in standard climates where corrosion exposure is moderate.
• Marine-Grade Stainless Steel: For coastal and saltwater environments where airborne salt accelerates corrosion on standard metals.
• Copper with Stainless Structure: For architectural or historic settings where visual presentation is important.

The Vacu-Stack can also be installed on square or rectangular masonry chimneys using the optional Masonry Adapter (sold separately).

An optional stainless steel spark screen is required in some jurisdictions. Standard screen is 1" mesh, with 1/2" mesh available for more restrictive code areas.

Stock sizes up to and including 12 inches are generally available. Sizes above 12 inches are custom-made, non-returnable, and typically ship in approximately 1–2 weeks.

Customers from all parts of the country have had great success with the Vacu-Stack. We have found that the Vacu-Stack will solve the majority of down draft issues when they are wind-related. Customers who purchase and install the Vacu-Stack for non-wind-related issues may see an improvement, but not a complete resolution to their down draft problems. Please be aware that if you purchase and install the Vacu-Stack, it cannot be returned.
