Bought as a replacement 27" grate. Height and front measurements were exactly the same. The only problem I experienced was in the width of the rear. Yours was a little wider across the rear and did not allow the taper to fully seat. Product is well made and I am using it. Just does not fully seat back in the taper of my fire place.

Excellent Heavy-Duty Grate

I purchased this grate to replace an open-style grate that came with the modular fireplace. This is heavy-duty cast iron that, I'm sure, will not burn out - probably ever. Measurements listed on the website are accurate. The shorter legs put the grate close to the floor of the firebox making it necessary to clean underneath regularly, but that is not a big issue. The 4-inch legs are tall enough to fit over the gas starter installed in our unit. Highly recommended.

Heavy Duty!

This is exactly what we were looking for! Fits our fireplace perfectly with the new fireback we also purchased. The only thing I wish was that the measurements on the site included the base (flat area) as well as the top opening. We wanted a little bit larger base but this size will still work well!

Works perfectly for my fireplace. I needed a low, shallow grate and this is perfect.

Shipping needs improvement

Great grate... but shipping and packaging was terrible. Putting a cast iron grate into a flimsy cardboard box with no packing was negligent. Aside from the ridiculous Canadian shipping cost of $175.... the delivery guy was pissed that the grate was bouncing around in a huge box. He asked me to inspect as it punctured the box in many places and noted there was one strip of tape on the seams. The grate is great... but not sure I’ll ever buy another due to the poor shipping.

Wrong size

Advertised rear dimension is 22 inches, but actual size is 23.25 inches. Wouldn't fit in the fireplace. The company should make sure sizes are correct. The representative was very helpful in helping select a different grate & in returning the original.
