First, I'm not sure if 5 means the best or lowest rating since the survey didn't mention the rating scheme, but I'm hoping it means the highest. I was impressed with the delivery/packing as it came in great shape, and was very easy to put together. I was able to put it together relatively quickly in the garage, and my wife and I moved it outside to it's permanent location. It is made of good quality steel with a good powder-coating for protection. Some racks are flimsy, but I can tell this is well reinforced and sturdy. We have it partially filled already, and the cover is also well made. I thought it might blow off with some heavy gusts, but it is well-fitted and secure. I'm happy I made the purchase and the price was very reasonable as well. Thanks.

Great Wood Rack

The Woodhaven 8 foot wood rack is great. I have had it for a couple of months and find it to be really sturdy. The one thing to note is that the cover is sturdy but closes with velcro, and does not stay closed in any level of wind. I would suggest making it with a clasp or zipper so it can be secured. It is a minor issue, but would really take it to the next level.

I'm a retired mechanical engineer. Designed and tested many similar products. Locally, I did not see anything but flimsy wood racks that required alternate stacking patterns. Your rack design seems well thought out and held a half chord easily and securely. Hopefully in ten years the rack will still be mechanically strong and still in service. Good design and materials. As others have stated, if you're looking for the best- this is it when buying a ready-made rack. The sixteeen foot rack might hold as much as a full-cord, but this is an excellent smaller option for placing next to your home (a dedicated shed is most likely the only option for regular burners). It has a solid build and I could not be happier. Keep in mind there are a few imitations out there, but the quality is not the same.

After allot of research, I chose to purchase the Woodhaven rack from Woodland Direct. It seemed to me that this company was devoted to high quality standards, setting themselves apart from other manufacturers and / or retailers offering racks that would likely have last a short while and would be disappointing. I almost purchased a much less expensive rack from my local home improvement warehouse, but the online reviews pointed me toward Woodland Direct. This is an extremely well built piece of storage equipment. I decided that instead of purchasing a new (cheap) firewood rack every few years, I would just get the Woodland Direct rack and have it for life. It arrived to my house very quickly and the packaging was very well constructed. The assembly instructions are clear and the assembly was quick. I am very happy with my purchase!

This is a solid firewood rack and it was a pleasure to assemble because it is simple, well engineered, and build quality is high. The small cover does a good job and it's nice that it's included with the rack. There are cheaper racks out there but you won't be sorry that you got this one. Only Rack You Need

This review is for the Woodhaven 8 ft log rack. This is a very high quality rack. I use it to store a half cord outside on the paved driveway. It assembles well, and the construction is very sturdy and durable. The half cover works quite well and allows easy access to the top layers of wood. You can purchase an optional full height cover to purchase. I cannot see any advantage to that unless one lives in a very rainy climate or needs to store for longer than a season. This product is as good as advertised. My only regret is that I had could have bought a larger one...which they offer.

We recently purchased both an 8 foot and a 5 foot rack. Both seem quite sturdy and hold the amount of wood specified in the description of these products. The covers are a great accessory. I cannot fairly judge the racks, however, until we get through at least one winter.

1/2 Chord Wood Storage

I now have 3 of these racks. I'll buy more in the future. They are very strong. I've put them on a 4x4 frame with rollers. This allows me to roll firewood from the side of my garage to inside of my shop for closer access and keep away from moisture. I live in the mountains and this year we are receiving a lot of snow.

This wood rack is extremely well made. It comes in two four foot sections that are joined together with metal plates both inside and outside. As a result, it is very stable and sturdy.

Incredibly study, easy to assemble. Heavy! Only holds a 1/2 face cord of wood. Which equals about 1/3 of a real cord instead of a 1/2 cord.

Amazing 8 Foot Firewood Rack

After years of using improvised racks and passing on flimsy commercial products, I opted for what looked to be a rugged and well-constructed product. Woodhaven delivered! It's an amazing rack. Easy to assemble, with clear instructions and parts with precision tolerances. That means the finished product is straight and strong. The black powder-coated paint doesn't easily scuff, and after assembly and loading the rack with wood, the finish still looks pristine. Sturdy and good looking

Our 8 ft firewood rack was very solid and stable and stored our 1/3+ cord of almond wood without problems. The assembly instructions were easy to follow (a power screwdriver helped speed up assembly). Couldn't be happier. Once it arrive, I lifted the box, felt the weight and immediately knew it was a top quality product. The instructions were clear and concise. The small tools were an added plus, but a traditional wrench helped grab the bolts better. The final product is an impressive looking addition to our firewood stockpile. Overpriced

While the unit appears fine and well constructed, the pricing is out of line with my expectations, glowing reviews notwithstanding. A few pieces of steel, some bolts and an inadequate canvas cover for $229 ($199 last year)? I do not feel the value equals the cost. The steel of the product is small and thin. The unit appears a bit wobbly. The included canvas cover is woefully inadequate for the snowy northeast. The full cover is also overpriced at $116. It's a piece of canvas. It should be included. I bought 2 for $458 + tax - We don't burn much so that's a lot of wood...think long and hard about this product.

Legit Wood Rack

I was hunting for a quality wood rack, and purchasing products made in the U.S.A. is also very important to me. This wood rack fit those requirements. Very sturdy, high quality finish, legit hardware, and quality cover (I chose to just stick with the top row cover when purchasing). Packaging was perfect, good instructions, if you need them. Assembled quickly and easily, and i set it up on a paver section i had leveled out, and had it completely filled with split white oak within hours. Nice rack

So far so good! Rack arrived on time with no damage. Package included all hardware as well. Set up was straightforward and took about 25 minutes. I had my 12 year old daughter assist me. Having an extra set of hand to help stabilize bars while securing bolts is helpful. I leveled in area on my yard and placed my rack on 17”x17” concrete pavers. Seems sturdy. 1/2 cord is stacked neatly and will be a good 6” off the ground. The cover is a nice add on to keep moisture off the top of my firewood. The cover fits right over the end bars and has these thick elastic loops that slide over bars as well. This should keep the cover secured during high wind. If you’d prefer a “belt and suspenders” approach, the bottom of cover has 4 grommet tie off points as well. I’m hoping this rack will last for many years to come as I really do appreciate it so far!

Firewood Rack

I have two 8 foot and one 16 foot racks with the standard covers. The build quality of the product is excellent. Heavy duty and well machined. The assembly is very easy. The cover system is excellent. It keeps the wood on top dry and allows ventilation for proper aging. It is also very easy to retrieve wood. You simply reach under the cover to remove wood from the top row. The cover moves down the side rails as wood is removed continually keeping the wood at the top dry and ready to use. This product is expensive, but well worth the investment if you are serious about buying wood as a heat source. I give this product 5 stars.

Great Log Racks

I have 4 other log racks and just acquired 2 Woodhaven racks. The Woodhaven racks are by far the best. They are far more sturdy than the rest. The powder coating makes the racks stand out. They even ship extra bolts and nuts in the event one is lost/damaged. I had an issue with one of the rails and Woodland direct was on it and immediately rushed a replacement. Excellent powder coat & welding

This is the second firewood rack we've purchased from Woodhaven Direct. Both kits went together easily, predrilled holes were precisely placed, & snug without compromising assembly. As a welder, I noted all welds were complete, i.e. no hot laps. Didn't find any thin spots in the powder coat. The only partial criticism I have is this rack is advertised and marked as "1/2 cord" capacity which is only possible if firewood is cut in 24"/2 foot lengths (cord = 4' x 4' x 8'). My bride and I cut our wood @ 16" length to fit our stove. Is this a deal breaker? Absolutely not. These racks are well made & should last longer than we'll need them. We found many racks that were cheaper, but poorly made. If Woodhaven's other products are made to the same standards, they are well worth the price.

High Quality Cordwood Rack

Product is of high-quality, heavy-duty steel (American made). It was very easy to put together as the instructions were very clear, and candidly there weren't that many parts to assemble anyway. The quality of this product is much better than the product available (imports) from the Big Box stores. This rack should last for many years. I previously purchased two 8' firewood racks about three years ago. They both performed quite well. My firewood requirements increased, so I ordered two more for this winter. The covers protect the wood from soaking rain and snow yet allow the wood to air dry if it does get wet. We're in the Ozark Mountains area, so cold winters are expected, yet not nearly as heavy as the northern states. High quality, precision made. Should last for many years. Exceptional word rack

I admit to being a little skeptical that there could be significant differences in wood racks; this rack proved me wrong. The design is thoughtful; the fabrication precise. The result is a durable and sturdy rack, and I wish I had bought three! I was also skeptical of the “topper” cover, vs. a rack cover that goes all the way to the ground- the Woodhaven approach turns out to be far superior in this regard as well- the wood breathes, and the top rows are perfectly dry. This rack is worth the investment and I’m very happy with it.

Very happy with a high quality product

Very good quality. Sturdy. Fairly easy to assemble. Once, loaded with wood, it is very stable. I put concrete patio bricks under the legs....like 12 by 12. Will buy a shorter one soon.

High quality

I bought a cheap wood rack on Amazon, which turned out to be made in China (see picture). After I got the delicate rack balanced just right and re-racked the wood, I was determined to get the best quality rack I could find for my remaining wood. The Woodhaven rack, made in Kansas, is that rack. I will never buy another make of rack!

Sturdy rack.

We’ve had the 8’ wood rack for several years; however, several months ago during a storm a large tree broke and fell directly across our loaded wood rack and it was a little more than the wood rack could handle. So, this is our second purchase of this rack and I am in the process of assembling it. The rack is great; it just can’t handle a large tree falling on it.

Great rack and the cover is perfect!

Ordered the 8’ rack with cover for a totally exposed storage area—no wall or eaves for shelter. The cover stays snug over the top of the stack keeping the wood usable even during heavy rain and the rack is so sturdy! Planning on replacing my remaining two (cheap) racks soon!
